Dress Code
Given the very warm and humid conditions expected in Cartagena, the dress code for the meeting will be business casual, e.g., no neckties or jackets, (men may wish to wear traditional shirts of the region called “guayaberas” which are easily available in Cartagena)
Health Requirements
No vaccination is required to enter Colombia.
Bogotá El Dorado Airport
Most international flights transit via Bogota El Dorado International Airport.
Cartagena Airport
Cartagena is serviced by the Rafael Nuñez Airport, which is about 20 minutes from the Convention Center and most of the suggested hotels.
Taxis are readily available at the airport. Fares range from $15.000 to $20.000 Colombian pesos ($7 to $10 US dollars). It is strongly recommended to hail the taxi cab at an airport official taxi or cab booth. Some hotels offer transportation from and to the Airport at a certain cost. This service can be requested when making the hotel reservation.
Getting to the Convention Center
The best way to get to the Convention Centre is by taxi; fares vary from $4 to $6 US dollars. The exact fare must be paid in cash. No credit card readers are installed in the taxi cabs. As opposed to many parts of the world, tipping a taxi driver is not customary in Colombia. A door-to-door taxi cab service can be requested at most hotels (see the concierge desk).
